SPT Input Data

Input raw data needed to perform calculation are:

Depth: Depth of test measured from free ground surface.

Raw SPT: Number of blows count at test depth.

FC: Fines content at test depth in percentage. In case no value is entered the software will use the previous known value, if no previous value is present then fines content will be considered zero.

D50: Mean size particle at test depth. This value will be used to estimate clean sand cone resistance which is needed for the calculation of post liquefaction volumetric strain.

Unit Weight: Soil unit bulk weight at test depth. If no value is present the software will sue previous known value. Default value is defined in the Calculation Properties dialog.

Infl. Depth: This value is considered as the soil layer thickness to be considered when calculating settlements.

Friction Angle: Effective friction angle to be used for the calculation of liquefaction strength ratio (only applicable to B&I 2014 SPT assessment method)

Can Liquefy: When not checked the software will set liquefaction Cyclic Resistance Ratio to 4.0 and Factor of Safety to 2.0.
